Kit includes:

Shaniko Merino Superwash Worsted yarn by Freia Fine Handpaints. Enough to knit one hat.

Kit includes approx. 40 grams of black and approx. 30 grams of the gradient. My hat was knit exactly to gauge and I had 5 grams of black leftover and about 3 grams of gradient.

The beautiful gradient is custom dyed so that the sunset colors gradually transition from the glowing yellow at the horizon to the pink-ish purple at the top.

Shaniko Merino wool yarn (sourced entirely in the US) is an absolute dream to work with. It has a very slight thick-and-thin vibe to it which creates a subtle texture.

Kit does not include pattern. Saguaro pattern available separately and is also found in Knitting the National Parks.

Note: Due to the nature of hand-dyed yarn, colors may vary slightly from what is shown in photo.

Does not include:

Pattern, beanie label, knitting needles, or stitch markers

The image of a giant Saguaro cactus against a desert sky is synonymous with the Americn West...and rightly so.  These giant plants with arms that seem to be reaching for the sky are pictured in almost every TV show or movie about the old west.  This beanie (worked in the round from the bottom up) captures that spirit with dark saguaro shapes against the colors of the desert sunset
