Buckeye trees and Buckeye nuts have become synonomous with Ohio and the people who live there. So much so, it seems nearly impossible to mention Ohio without mentioning Buckeyes. The tree gets its name from the nut it produces which resembles the color and shape of a deer’s eye. The Ohio Buckeye is the official state tree, the state nickname (the Buckeye State), and the official mascot of Ohio State University. The nuts (although inedible) are thought to bring good luck if you carry one in your pocket.
This designs embraces the beloved state tree with a band of easily recognizable Buckeye nuts topped with a row of Buckeye trees under a clear blue sky.
