Rugged coastlines, fishing industry, lobsters, lighthouses, stormy weather, and charming coastal towns.  If these are the images that come to mind when you think about Maine, you wouldn’t be wrong.  With 3500 miles of coastline dotted with bays and coves and flanked by thousands of coastal islands, Maine’s connection to the sea is intensely strong, dating back to the first humans who lived there.

This design features a rocky coastline and a simplified interpretation of Portland Head Light, the oldest and probably most famous of the 65 lighthouses still standing along the coast of Maine.

Size: One size fits an average adult size head. (Approx. 19" - 22")

Yarn used in sample:

     A: Ewe 2 Yarn Mellow Worsted: Cliffside (25 g/ 54 yd./ 49 m)

     B:  Polka Dot Sheep Whitefish Worsted: Moose Meadow (10 g/ 21 yd./ 19 m)

     C. Malabrigo Rios: Denim (10 g/ 21 yd./ 19 m)

     D. Dragonfly Fibers and Canon Hand Dyes Sylph Worsted: Cloudy Sky (33 g/ 71 yd./ 65 m)

      E. Aly Bee Workshop Merino Worsted: Rainy Day (10 g/ 21 yd./ 19 m)

For each duplicate stitched lighthouse, you will need approx. 2-3 yards each of natural or white, black, and your chosen color for the roof.  I used Aly Bee Workshop Merino Worsted in Farmhouse for the roof.  Optional flowers will need the same amount of another color.
