Los Colores de Mexico Beanie Kit
Kit
With hundreds of Spanish named cities, streets, and beaches from San Diego to San Francisco (and beyond) it’s clear to see that Spanish and Mexican roots run deep in California, especially in the south. This heritage is a huge part of who we are as a state and of anyone who lives here.
A gentle nod to the Mexican heritage of California, this fun and colorful design was inspired by the beautiful embroidery found on peasant style blouses and Ballet Folklórico dresses. I'm a huge fan of embroidery, especially the embroidery found on the clothing of many cultures around the world. It’s just so beautiful! This beanie features colorful images of birds and flowers against a solid base with the addition of embroidered French knots and simple straight stitches to add even more dimension and pops of color. Begin with a base color of your choice (natural, black, pink, blue, etc.) and then adjust the colors of the images to create your own unique design. Whatever colors you choose, you’ll be bringing the colors of Mexico to life.
