THERE’S GOLD in CALIFORNIA!  When James Marshall unexpectedly discovered gold at Sutter’s Mill in January of 1848 in the Sierra Nevada foothills, nobody expected it to lead to one of the greatest mass migrations in US history.  But, by 1849, ‘Gold Fever” was in full swing and the California Gold Rush was on! Thousands of prospectors flooded into the state to find their fortunes in gold.

Using simple colorwork, this design takes you to the heart of Gold Country from the gravel of the river bottom to the blue sky above foothills and tall pine trees.  Look at all the gold in that river!  With or without the optional gold, the nature inspired colors and classic shapes depict a scene reminiscent of many a mountain adventure.
