Located entirely above the Arctic Circle, Gates of the Arctic is the northernmost of all the national parks and one of the least visited.  With no trails, roads, lodging, or cell service available, only the most adventurous and self-sufficient visitors stay for more than a few hours.  Snow is possible any month of the year.  Grizzlies, caribou, moose, and wolves roam freely.  Mountains, rivers and streams seem to go on forever.  And, on clear dark nights, the Northern Lights dance across the sky as yet another reminder of the beauty and wonder of this Alaskan wilderness. In this design, carefully chosen colors and a bit of sparkle combine with mohair to create the ethereal effect of Northern Lights across a night sky just above the horizon.
