Because of the varied topography and amazing scenery, the Eastern Sierras have been used as a shooting location for countless movies and TV shows for decades. The area is also a bucket-list road trip filled with adventures and destinations of all sorts, including. Alabama Hills, the boulder-filled, fun-filled, desert-like area near Lone Pine. Using the beautiful colors of the Eastern Sierras, this design hints at the texture of Alabama Hills against a backdrop of mountains and sky.  The small arch represents Mobius Arch, the natural rock formation that (in real life) perfectly frames Mount Whitney in the distance

    • Yarn needed: worsted weight, approximately 200 yds total. 
    • Needles: 16" circular needles in U.S. size 5 and  7.  Double pointed needles in U.S. size 7 (or size needed for gauge).
    • Other supplies: Stitch markers and tapestry needle. 
    • Worked in the round from the bottom up
